Library of Wonder: Jules Verne On Sale

This is the wonderful news I was promising. I just found the listing for Library of Wonder: Jules VerneExtraordinary Voyages (ISBN13: 9781435115552) online at Barnes & Noble's website. The book is available for order online and through their stores, unfortunately not stocked in-store at this time. I was told by a store sales rep that it takes 3-4 days for delivery to your local B&N store. The hardcover is 734 pages in total, with three classics by Verne—Around the World in Eighty Days, Journey to the Center of the Earth and Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea—with 60 black & white, full-page and spot illustrations that I supplied for this edition. Thanks in advance for your support in ordering a copy and passing the word about this exclusive edition.

I cannot wait to see this! Congrats!

....so the question on everyone's mind is, what next?

Brienne, I have some answers finally for you --

I am doing another job for Barnes & Noble. A front and back cover image for five classic Charles Dickens' stories. Not to be confused with another Dickens book cover, of Christmas themed stories, for B&N I completed earlier this year and which should be out shortly. I'll post more on the progress of both of those projects as they happen.

...and I am doing a color short story for David Petersen's, just announced, "Legends of the Guard" series based on the world of "Mouse Guard". There's going to be exciting stuff for a while -- hang on!

Wow, Nate, that's killer. I worked for Archaia Press for a while when Mouse Guard was just catching on. I never got the chance to meet David, but Mark Smylie (ASP's publisher) had most excellent things to say about him.

This is all funtastic stuff to hear, my friend!!

I'm reading this book right now. Your illustrations for it are amazing, just perfect. They set mood precisely and help me pretend I'm reading the books when they were first published.

Thanks for the nice compliments, Derrick. I am really pleased that my illustrations are helping you enjoy the book in that way.

Mr. Pride,
I just wanted to tell you that I have this book and it is absolutely fantastic-because of the illustrations. Thank you so much for all your work on this. It brings a natural feel to the work as a whole and puts me in the frame of mind of the era. Thanks again!

Thank you, Paul, for writing me about my work. I really am pleased that I have allowed readers to enjoy the book in this way. I did try to fit my artwork seamlessly within the descriptions of Verne's writing. It's so good to hear from you that I was successful. Cheers.

I just picked this up, along with the John Carter of Mars collection. This is great! I was looking for others in the "Library of Wonder" series, but I guess this is it for the time being. Good work on the illustrations in the Verne book; the style fits so well that until now I thought they were from an initial serial magazine run or something.

Thank you, Matthew. I really appreciate you checking out the book and for your very nice compliment to my work in the book. I really tried to appropriately match the feel of Verne's writing with my art and designs. Cheers!
