Inktober 2014
Each day, for the month of October, I created a new inked drawing and shared it online. This was all based on a yearly phenomenon called INKTOBER. Lots of artists around the world are a part of this artistic project, created by Jake Parker. So when the end of September was rolling in and Jake posted a reminder about Inktober starting up soon. I made the decision that I was going to attempt that for this year. I had first thought it would be a way for me to have better daily habits of drawing & creating, having more presence on social media, and getting out of being too protective of every line I made in pencil and ink. It turned out that I learned more about myself and what it takes to make a daily deadline with everything else you may be doing that day. It all made for a very exciting, satisfying journey into my very first Inktober. You can view the entire month of my drawings on my Tumblr page: n8pride-art.tumblr.com.

The Devastator Ushers In The APOCALYPSE!
In these darkest of times a group of talented souls have banded together to bring laughter to the masses. The Devastator: Apocalypse is being officially released today! The Devastator is the geek comedy book series featuring new works by 30+ writers and artists from The Daily Show, The Onion, Adult Swim, Marvel and more! I teamed up with writer Lesley Tsina on the post-apoc story "The Craigslist". I have previously been an art co-contributor in two other The Devastator issues; Fantasy and Crossovers. For more information on how to purchase this current issue (print and digital) or subscribe to this great publication check out the links below.

Reading With Pictures to be published by AMP!
Announced last week through the Reading With Pictures Kickstarter and Facebook pages that "Reading With Pictures: The Graphic Textbook" will now be published in hardcover format in August 2014 through AMP! Comic For Kids. AMP! publishes titles such as Big Nate, Peanuts, Pearls Before Swine and others. I worked with writer Geoffrey Golden on "PROBAMON! Gotta Chance 'Em All", a parody story about probability, for this edition of the Graphic Textbook.

Thank You, Detroit Fanfare and Fans
My second appearance at the Detroit Fanfare Comic Book Convention was a great success. This year the Con moved back to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan. The 3-day show, rolled up within the Halloween celebrations, was fun and enjoyable and I met a lot of new fans of my art. I even had the chance to encourage a few young artists in their endeavors. I also got to catch up with some "old" friends again which makes conventions like this even more special. Thank you to everyone for coming by to visit, purchase a commission or sketchbook and speak with me. Tony Miello, Gary Reed, Dennis Barger, the Hyatt Regency, all the staff and volunteers of Detroit Fanfare deserve much applause for putting on a truly great show this year. It even helped a tiny bit to take a little sting off the weekend my Detroit Tigers lost in the World Series. Already looking forward to next year. Cheers!

New Print Available At DETROIT FANFARE
Just in time for the Halloween season I will be offering up my version of "The Pumpkin Giant" as a 11" x 14" limited ed. print. Inspired by the 19th century Mary E. Wilkins Freeman story of the same name. The print will be available for the first time at the Detroit Fanfare Comic Convention in October. For those of you that are not able to make it, or are not in the USA, I will be offering up this print and a few more on my website very soon.

Detroit Fanfare 2012
I will be setting up in the Artist Alley at the Detroit Fanfare Comic Book convention, October 26-28th. Fanfare will be at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan this year. Tickets and info are available at their website. I will be drawing commissions, signing books, selling original art and promoting my artistic involvement in the upcoming "Reading With Pictures" graphic textbook project to get comics, as learning tools, into schools. I hope to see you all there!
